Stars in Your Eyes is fortunate to have such a wonderful, growing family of patients. When you choose Stars In Your Eyes, a portion of every purchase goes to organizations with a vision for change in their community. It is our goal to donate 10% of our profits to local, national, and international non-profit organizations. The money you spend on your eyesight and eyewear goes directly back to charities near and dear to Austinites hearts. Therefore, you can feel good about your vision and investment in yourself.
Last year, some of the more significant donations went to: American Refugee Committee, Austin Children’s Shelter, Austin Pets Alive, Capital Area Food Bank, Caritas of Austin, Dream Come True, Foundation Communities, Front Steps, Hospice Austin, KUT.org, Lifeworks, Meals on Wheels, Mercy Corps, Mobile Loaves and Fishes, Safeplace, The Christi Center, and Wonders and Worries. Our thanks go out for all the great work that these groups and their supporters accomplish.
Share the Site Program
Our “Share the Sight Program” helps provide the gift of sight to those who cannot afford it. Each month, we provide an eye exam (and glasses if needed) at no cost to an adult or child for whom the cost of these services would represent a financial difficulty. We also donate gift certificates for exams and glasses for charitable auctions and causes.
Glasses Donations to Nonprofits
Donate your old glasses at our office. We will pass them along to organizations, including the Lions Club, to provide vision for those who would not be able to afford it on their own.
Visual Counseling Services
Dr. Emily donates one hour of visual counseling services to a person per month through her counseling practice: www.austinmentalwellness.com. This is effective for those suffering from anxiety, depression, panic attacks, trauma and psychosomatic (the body impacted by mind distress) symptoms. Contact her to learn more of her sight-giving!
For the Sight-Giving Program, we ask that our patients and charitable-giving organizations provide the name, contact information, and a brief description of how the nominee or organization meets the goal of this program via the “General Questions and Comments” category on our website’s “Contact Us” page.
